Charities & Causes

The causes that I feel strongly about are related to my mom and dad who gave me life, love and support!  They are gone now but their spirit will always live in my heart!

–  LIEMBA – My mother was a breast cancer survivor for more than 20 years.  During my time as a student of the Hofstra Executive MBA program and asked several members of my class and other classes if they would be interested in getting together and golf and possibly raise some money for a good cause.  We have been running this Charity golf outing for nearly 13 years and have raised approximately $400K for Long Island Breast Cancer Charities. This year’s event is on August 17, 2015 at Tam O’Shanter Golf Club.

– JWV Brotherhood Award – My father used to MC this Scholarship award and was a member of the Jewish war veterans for over 55 years!  We continue to provide scholarships to two individuals from 4 High Schools who demonstrate a strong connection to caring for their community and excellence in musical proficiency!  These awards are presented in the name of Bernard and Lillian Hein.  This year the event is at Levittown Hall on May 31, 2015 at 11:00am.

– Bernard Hein Memorial Scholarship – My father was a teacher, educator and mentor.  He loved the law and inspiring young minds.  We provide a scholarship to a young individual who embraces this passion for the law and will be a strong candidate for making the world a better place.

-My Dream Project is to raise money to fight Parkinson’s Disease and raise awareness!  I would like to do this by visiting every MLB stadium and talk about my father an educator, war veteran, father, grandfather and counselor.  He was a man who had Parkinson’s and up until his dying day of 83, when his whole body shutdown  after the fight with Parkinson’s, still taught and still went to the gym 5 times a week!  He was an incredibly inspiring man!
